Embrace Yourself

guache, graphite, eyeshadow

I've heard people that are "shady" or conniving referred to as “snakes” - as in “a snake in the grass" - as in a secretly bad person. I internalized this sentiment as I was worried that people might say the same things about me behind my back.

Not only that, but I was beginning to recognize that simply having that conversation also put you and those involved in the same shady field you so quickly banished others to. It was taking a toll on me.

I think that looking at things from the perspective of said snake, {or} perhaps acknowledging those "shady" and conniving parts of ourselves, will change the way we see those qualities in others.
