Projecting

Photography

Part of the reason I love live music so much is that it is a fully immersive experience. You actually feel the influence of the stage before you even get there, be it through the building buzz with your friends as you get ready, or walking up to a line full of weirdos just like you, giddy off the bass you can hear through the brick walls of the venue.

Clearly there is a reason we flock back to those spaces, I myself do because it’s honestly therapeutic. The evening of this shoot I had two artists I have yet to see live, Neon Indian & Kaytranada, playing in the background. The projections you see are from Vega Intl Night School - Neon Indian, and a few stills from 10% - Kaytranada ft. Kali Uchis.

While it was not the heat of stage lights and 808 thump of a speaker you can feel in your chest, I felt like I was not in my living room. Rather an intimate club of the most exclusive status with a playlist curated for indie sad boys with a thing for disco and psychedelia. Invite only.
